Chico California Wedding Day Photos of Sara & Jason

A few weeks back, I had the absolute pleasure of photographing the Chico California Wedding Day Photos of Sara & Jason.

I loved photographing the destination wedding of these two. I traveled to Chico, California from Bozeman, Montana for a weekend of great fun.

Sara works as a veterinarian. On a long overnight emergency work shift one evening, her coworker was helping her look for wedding photographers and they found my website. My style aligned with Sara’s vision of her wedding day and show reached out.

Talking with Jason and Sara on the phone, we quickly bonded over discovering a mutual love of the outdoors, fly fishing and the occasional craft beer. These were my kind of people. These two lovebirds ended up booking me well over a year out. I’m so glad they did. We became fast friends.

Destination Wedding outside Chico California

As the months counted down to their wedding, my excitement kept growing. Finally, the day arrived. I had been looking forward to Jason and Sara’s wedding day for a while.

Despite our engaging conversations over the phone, our first time actually meeting in person was on the morning of their wedding day. I wasn’t introducing myself to strangers. It was like being reacquainted with old friends.

I met them as they were getting ready at the Hotel Diamond in downtown Chico. Once they were ready, the wedding party and I loaded up into a limousine for a mini adventure. Together, we drove around to explore the town. We ended up checking out some parks to make some creative bridal party portraits. Once finished, we headed over to the wedding venue to start the main show.

Sara and Jason’s wedding was a fantastic DIY (Do it yourself!) event hosted at his mother’s Double R Ranch farm on the outskirts of town. The day came together with the help of friends and family who worked together to successfully create a charming garden farm-themed wedding celebration.

Dinner was served outside in the garden amongst the sunflowers and squash on wooded tables made earlier by the groomsmen. The barn itself had been recently finished by the wedding party just in time for occasion.

Everywhere you looked there was a personal touch.

It was a beautiful day filled with warm weather and smiles. A fun weekend with great people! I am just thrilled for these two! Congrats to Sara and Jason and many years of continued happiness! -Mike Greener
