Idaho Falls Idaho Wedding Photography of Hope & Jeffery

A couple weeks ago, I traveled down to the small Idaho town of Rigby to photograph Idaho Falls garden wedding of Hope and Jeffery.

I met Hope and Jeffery last summer when I was photographing her sister Ashley’s wedding day in the Montana Bitterroot Valley. It was so great to celebrate another wedding with their family again.

The wedding couple had their wedding at her grandparents country garden home. It’s a beautiful property covered with flowers, fresh produce, horse pastures, and tall cottonwood stands. It left all onlookers to admire the artistic touch of two master gardeners. As of note, her grandparents said they collected over 30 gallons of raspberries alone last year. Amazing!

Creating a DIY Idaho Falls garden wedding

I love to see wedding couples take the idea of a wedding and make it completely all their own. Hope and Jeffery were no exception.

This couple was able to blend a country garden wedding theme with Jeffery’s Japanese family roots. His relatives folded 1000 paper cranes and then hung them intermixed with lights in a large cottonwood tree. The results made for a beautiful ambience.

The wedding cuisine had a wonderful, homemade touch. Since roughly 360 guests were invited, the wedding party had many mouths to feed. The riddle was solved by having a caterer make a ton of pulled pork BBQ.

Rather than create an exorbitant wedding cake, Hope and Jeffery opted for a smaller wedding cake from a fancy bakery. From there, the family cooks united and made dozens of homemade pies. It was a delicious personal touch to a wedding day food menu. Once everyone’s bellies were full, the night entertainment began.

Drinks were poured. From the first moment the DJ cued the music, the dance floor got busy. In addition, their wedding guests were treated to yard games, a Photo Booth, and an epic candy bar that assisted in keeping spirits and sugar levels high well into the late evening. Smiles were seen all around.

In all, it was a beautiful day and I was thrilled to be apart of it. I wish Hope and Jeffery all the best! -Mike
