Creek Club at I’On Wedding of Josh & Elizabeth in Charleston South Carolina

A couple weeks ago, I photographed the Creek Club at I’On Wedding of Josh and Elizabeth in Charleston, South Carolina.

Eager to celebrate with this couple, I flew from my home in Bozeman, Montana and took a flight bound for Charleston, South Carolina to photograph Josh and Elizabeth’s wedding weekend festivities.

As a destination wedding photographer, I love traveling for weddings!

I equate exploring new places with my camera to what it’s like for a painter to work with a brand new canvas. I was an opportunity filled with endless, new possibilities. I couldn’t wait to begin.

Planning a destination wedding at Creek Club at I’On

This trip was my first time exploring the city of Charleston. I loved being completely submerged in the throws of the storied southern charm.

I discovered an appreciation for the culture, local cuisine, and lifestyle that the folks in the deep south continue to proudly cultivate. It was pretty surreal walking along the historic streets and adorable old buildings that dated back to the Civil War. So much history all around me. It was really cool to witness.

Josh and Liz hail from the suburbs of Chicago but have visited this South Carolina city a few times. It was that southern soul that they wanted to incorporate into their wedding celebration.

Throughout the weekend, their wedding guests were able to experience all the tantalizing things the city is known for. Everyone was especially excited about boiled peanuts, delicious crab boils, and walking the lovely beaches.

The bride and groom choose the Creek Club at I’On wedding venue in the small town of Mt. Pleasant just outside of Charleston, South Carolina.

Creek Club at I’On offered a perfect setting along the banks of picturesque Hobcaw Creek for both the couple’s wedding ceremony and reception. This combination worked really well.

Pro tip: Having your wedding and reception in the same location is a huge convenience not to be under estimated.

Despite the ninety degree temperatures and full-on humidity throughout the weekend, their wedding day was packed with all the right ingredients of a gorgeous southern wedding day – loving family and friends, great food, and a live band.

We all celebrated their union well into the night hours. It was an incredible weekend with these two and I wish them all the very best! -M
